am i retarded in being hilariously underwhelmed by the feature set of ableton version 7? what are the selling points here?

the only things that caught my eye were REX support and a spectral analyzer - but these aren't worth $150 in upgrade costs to me. what say you?

It's a mixed bag, I think - there aren't any big, flashy features (like when they added MIDI clips), but there a lot of small- and medium-sized enhancements which, depending on how you use Live, could add up to making it worthwhile.

For me, I think the "enhanced audio engine" could be a nice boost (depending on what kind of "enhancements" they've done). I'm also really excited about using REX loops, and (finally!) having time signature changes in the arrange view - that's the last piece needed to make film scoring a complete reality.

I agree with Sky-Makai that tempo nudge will be nice to have, and the Drum Rack sounds like it could be fun. All in all, it will totally be worth the upgrade price for me, but, like I said, I think it really depends on what you're doing and how you use it.
