So, w/o Ableton Live 7's sidechaining ability for compression, how are you achieving ducking effects w/ Live?

the compressor in live 6 has a side-chaining option (look for the button) - i believe you need to split a copy of the audio from the track controlling the sidechaining and route it to the track using the compressor, much as you would set up a vocoder.

That's funny. I read in PC Music or one of those rags about the Live 6 package and they stated specifically that there is no side chaining option for EQ or compression. I still have not upgraded...so, that's all from me.

I've tried to produce sidechaining compression w/ the Compressor II, with no avail; the sidechaining capabilities, as the manual says, are for adjusting the frequencies which trigger the compressor.
I picked up a cheap sidechain compressor, which seems to work, but it's generic... I'd like to find one which is known for quality processing.
