Suppose I have a new audio clip. When I click the Warp button, Live automatically goes through the file and adds warp markers where t thinks they're needed. Unfortunately, it does a bad job at this. I don't want Live to add the warp markers. I just want the track to be in warp mode so that I can add warp markers myself.
How do I stop Live from adding its own warp markers?

Re: how to have Warp not create warp markers
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 9:27 AMClick on the track and open the sample display. In the Sample On your left you'll see the warp button hi-lighted in green-click that and it will turn off warping. If you click it again, it will rewarp or allow you to warp-I hope I'm understanding your question...

Re: how to have Warp not create warp markers
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 3:20 PMYou can also right-click/ctrl-click on the first marker and select "Warp straight from here". It's still warping the track, but it will clear all of the markers and just do a straight tempo warp. -

Re: how to have Warp not create warp markers
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 4:13 PMI've been wondering. Is it advisable to have the tempo in Live at least close to the natural tempo of the track before warping. I kind of assume that it makes little difference, code wise. It may make warping through a tough track easier. What do you guys do? -

Wed, February 27, 2008 - 5:06 PMYeah-I think it does make a difference but I can't promise or state that as fact.

Re: how to have Warp not create warp markers
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 6:00 PMI match the tempo as close as possible, it's more accurate... that's what I keep telling myself ;)
I think Audiovoid likely has the best answer, he can describe the nuances of warping better than anyone I've read trying to explain it.

Re: how to have Warp not create warp markers
Sat, March 1, 2008 - 4:01 PMIf you open a track and Live attempts to place tons of warp markers you can easily get rid of them by click a single warp marker and then hitting Cmd-A (ctrl-a if on a pc) and it will highlight all. Then hit delete and all warp markers will be deleted except for the 1st one.
You can read my warping reply on this thread for a tiny bit more in depth warp method:

Re: how to have Warp not create warp markers
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 12:58 PMOh geez. I always forget about cmd-a every time I need it... and in between, apparently.
Thx Audiovoid!
