how to have Warp not create warp markers

Suppose I have a new audio clip. When I click the Warp button, Live automatically goes through the file and adds warp markers where t thinks they're needed. Unfortunately, it does a bad job at this. I don't want Live to add the warp markers. I just want the track to be in warp mode so that I can add warp markers myself.

How do I stop Live from adding its own warp markers?

Click on the track and open the sample display. In the Sample On your left you'll see the warp button hi-lighted in green-click that and it will turn off warping. If you click it again, it will rewarp or allow you to warp-I hope I'm understanding your question...
