I have Ableton Live and want to use it for DJ-ing.
I have a Xitel Hifi-Link audio interface, which provides a stereo output.
What I want to do while DJ-ing is to have the main output be the Xilink, and to do cue-ing using the regular headphone jack of the laptop.
How do I set that up in Live?

Re: how to send to audio interface or not while DJ-ing
Sun, February 24, 2008 - 10:59 PMHi, Mike...
typically, you can only use ONE soundcard at a time, by my experience...
so, you'll need an interface/soundcard w/ more than one stereo output...
there's lots of options... that'd be good for another thread titled, "which soundcard/interface?".

Mon, February 25, 2008 - 2:00 PMI've used ASIO4ALL V2 with some success for this purpose. It creates a virtual ASIO device upon which you can redirect audio to different interfaces. It doesn't seem to work in every conceivable configuration, however. But it might work for yours if you are using windoze drivers with your Xitel.
