Hey,
I have just bought a Remote SL (which is siiiiiiick) but i am having trouble in getting the assianble pads and buttons to trigger clips.
I want to use it for djing, with 3 channels firing and stop clips (via the buttons) and the faders to control the mixer.
Does anyone know where i can get my hands on a template i could load on to my controller?

assign them yourself. it will work way better for you than some preloaded templete. it might take a few minutes. I really like those remote from looking at them, althought I have not played with one so i dont know. if you dont know how to assign midi knobs, than I think thier is a tutorial for doing so.

Is it an SL-25 or SL-Zero? Or is it the older one without automap?
If its the 1st two, then you can go to Novations website and download an Ableton Automap template where the Drum Pads Have different notes assigned to them so they will automaticaly correspond with Impulses drum slots. You have to upload it thru the software editor that comes with the SL.
If its one of the older ones then just assign everything thru Abletons Midi Learn.
I bought the SL-Zero (the one without the keys) and am only halfway happy with it. The automap is amazing , but still not propper for playing live sets because you still have to mouse over and click on whatever device that you want to control. Now if there was only a way to actually Edit certain parts of the automap, then THAT would be TITS!!!
Ha ha. Actually Im Rambling and am not even sure that I answered the original question.
Sorry if I went way off topic.

Just curious-you have done the template dump, right? When you say that you're having trouble-is it not triggering?

    BTW-the website-www.novationmusic.com/downloads.asp

Has all the temps incase you haven't done this already...
    • just got this email:

      Hi Mark,

to return the ReMOTE SL to factory state first of all run the latest installer (3.0, available from www.novationmusic.com/downloads.asp to reset the globals and automap templates. Then use the ReMOTE SL editor to restore the factory templates. To do this connect the SL to your computer and launch the ReMOTE SL template editor (free to download from www.novationmusic.com/downloads.asp In the editor select 'Select MIDI input/output device' from the 'Device' menu and set 'ReMOTE SL Port 1' as the input and output. Next make sure memory protect is set to off in the global menu on the SL itself. In the editor select 'Bulk dumps...' from the 'Device' menu and then click 'Upload factory settings' in the 'Bulk dumps' window to restore the factory templates on the unit.

Once you have done the above follow the instructions for setting up the ReMOTE SL with Ableton Live in the 'Automap Universal Guide' pdf which comes with the 3.0 installer. Once you have doen that there will be nothing to worry about!

Let me know if you need any further info.

      Best regards,

      Oli Cash
