Problem while rendering Live dj mix

I use Ableton mainly for building Dj Mixes, but I'm having some trouble after the mix is over, when I have to render it to a single file.

While I mix it, I try to keep the volume at the same level and I do a fairly good job, as well as the EQ mixing.

But when I render the mix something goes wrong. At one time, a whole song was played with no "bass" at all, then I opened the set again, went into Arrangement view and reviewd the EQ mixing, which was ok, and rendered again. But in the second time, something else got f*ckd up, which was the last song, in which the volume was VERY below the one that I played the set.

Any hints?

Help me win - vote for my remix

Hey all. I joined a remix context and nope to win a bunch of gear if I get 1st or 2nd place. Please hit the link below to go vote for me. I'd really appreciate it. You will need to sign up for a "fan" account to vote, but please take the time to. The original track was a not so crazy Crystal Method track. In listening briefly to the other entries, it sounds like mine is the only one that went the dnb route.
Here's the link:
http://www.fuzz.com/contest/remixingprotools/gallery

Please vote ASAP. Voting closes at the end of September. If you let me know that you voted for me either on this thread or by PM, I'll arrange to get you a CD of my tracks. Just ask.
Thank you, and wish me luck.

anyone else have problems with theirs?

i am using ableton on a PC and sometimes when i am doing the live PA the uc-33 totally bails and i have to restart ableton.

might be hitting a key by accident on the uc-33 or something. but then none of the presets bring it back to where it was.

really don't care to repeat this on tour this summer. anyone have any suggestions?

Hello,
I am trying to decide which of these programs to buy right now. I want to use them for remixing at home with vinyl. I want to be able to start and stop and tweak until I have the perfect hour long mix. I don't want to do the whole thing straight thru "live". Does anyone have any suggestions on which program would be best for this?
Thanx,Jesh

using the Novation Remote 25SL keyboard with Live

Well I finaly decided to go with the Novation Remote 25SL as my midi controller for Live. I chose it because it seemed functional for both creating new music and DJ applications. I got the latest Auto Map files from the Novation site and it is working very well so far. I had to re-map the deault midi notes for the drum pads on the SL so that they would trigger the Impulse pads, and now those are working great, but...

I can't figure out how to use the actual keys of the SL's keyboard to play Lives virtual instruments. So far I can can use Impulse and they 8 associated pads, but I want to play the actual keyboard like a synthesizer. What am I missing?

cheers,
Four Band Frequency Divider Audio Rack (Preset Download)

This is a 100% transparent Four Band Frequency Divider Audio Rack for Live. Unlike the factory multiband live presets this keeps your audio integrity intact. This can be used for frequency dependent FX & mastering purposes. This uses subtractive phase techniques as opposed to minimal phase EQ. In other words the basic signal flow design framework wont change or color your audio. You can test this by double bussing & inverting the phase.

What you are about to see is an evolution in film sound design far different from anything you‘ve heard before…
The Karas AMV

Anime Music Videos (AMV) are created by hobbyist who take a popular song and add it on top of existing Japanese Animation footage to give the Video a new and more exciting feel. The Karas AMV was created around the idea of taking found sources and samples from existing Japanese Animation titles and combining it with performances highly skilled musicians and Turntablist to recreate the film sound effect work creating a frenetic, hyper real approach to sound design. After the original sound track was removed, the music (Bass performance and Ableton sounds by J of The Opposite of Faith) was written and recorded into Ableton Live- every other voice, movement, moment and mood was created on Turntables and through Turntable mixing techniques (cutting, scratching, transforming) while performing to the video. The approach was expanded by having the Turntablist (DJ Quest and DJ Cplus) manipulating the Dave Smith Evolver and the Korg Kaoss Pad through the DJ mixers and MIDI control. Performances (Bass, Turntables) were record through the EMU 1616 into Ableton Live and warped, edited and combined there. The final mixdown was performed in Ableton Live and Mastered using Summit Audio Tube EQs.
how to have Warp not create warp markers

Suppose I have a new audio clip. When I click the Warp button, Live automatically goes through the file and adds warp markers where t thinks they're needed. Unfortunately, it does a bad job at this. I don't want Live to add the warp markers. I just want the track to be in warp mode so that I can add warp markers myself.

How do I stop Live from adding its own warp markers?

a few more questions

First off -- Thanks to everyone who has been answering my questions this past week. It's been immensely helpful.

I am now bedroom DJ-ing successfully with Ableton Live 6 on a Windows XP laptop with an M-Audio Fast Track Pro (audio interface) and an M-Audio X-Session Pro (MIDI controller).

I will start using this setup for two live DJ gigs next week.

I still have a few more (somewhat less urgent) questions. I have a feeling that the answer to most of these is "Sorry, Live doesn't do that," but I'll ask anyway. If the answer to any of these is "Live 6 doesn't do that but Live 7 does", that would be good to know too.

1) For a clip on an audio track, I can adjust the clip's volume on Master Out. Is there a way to also adjust the clip's volume on Cue (when it's not playing on Master Out)?

2) If a clip on an audio track is playing to Master Out and I accidentally click on the clip's triangle icon, the clip will start over from the beginning. This would be disasterous if the clip is a full song (not a loop). Is there a preference somewhere that will prevent this type of mistake?

3) I've noticed that each audio track has a horizontal bar that shows the time length of the clip, with a progress indicator that shows how much of the clip has played. What I really want, though, is to see a text (not graphical) display of how much time has passed and how much time is left until the end of the clip. This could be expressed either in minutes and seconds or in bars and beats.

4) I've noticed that there are master "play", "stop" and "record" buttons at the top of the screen. I've also noticed that each audio track has a button that determines if the track is active (playing to Master Out) or not. What I'd like is a stop button that just affects the clips on one audio track.

5) For each audio track, I have a vertical slider on the MIDI controller that controls the track's volume. In the default configuration, the very bottom of the slider maps to negative infinity db, and the top of the slider maps to +6 db. The problem: If I have the slider set so that the volume is 0 db, and then I move the slider halfway down, the volume drops by way more than 50%, which feels awfully unintuitive. My current solution is to have the bottom of the slider map to -30 db instead of negative infinity db. This mostly solves the problem, but it seems a bit sketchy (since I can't completely mute the track by sliding the slider all the way down). Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks for any advice on these topics. I really appreciate it.

how to send to audio interface or not while DJ-ing

I have Ableton Live and want to use it for DJ-ing.

I have a Xitel Hifi-Link audio interface, which provides a stereo output.

What I want to do while DJ-ing is to have the main output be the Xilink, and to do cue-ing using the regular headphone jack of the laptop.

How do I set that up in Live?

BCD 3000 + Ableton Live

Anyone use this setup?

I'm having trouble setting up the Audio Outputs. I want to use the BCD 3000 to listen to the song mixing without it getting into the main mix, and I'm still not getting it to output the master mix in the master output, and send the queued music to my headphones. Anybody here have a solution to this?

I really like Live's ability to get all the tracks in perfect rhythm, but I'm really weary of those devious warp markers and time stretchers, so I just want to set the initial warp marker for the beginning of the song, trigger the songs at the beat and then mix by ear.

I've been using Live 7 now for a few weeks having upgraded from 6 - and maybe it's just me but I'm curious if anyone else is having a similar problem...

it sounds like the audio engine is having a hard time keeping up - it's not latency, but sounds more like there's a tempo slip and the track is slowing down...I never had this problem with 6 and am curious if it is some dithering algorithm or what? I haven't even pushed the processor power over 25% since I upgraded (have a MacBook with Intel DuoCore and 2GB of RAM so I shouldn't have any problems there)...

is anyone else noticing this or am I just on crack?

it's doing this when working on original trax as well as when DJing trax. I'll be damned if I can figure out what the hell is causing it...

odd meter loop/clip problems

I'm having problems doing clips in odd meters like 7, 11, 15 etc...

I'm using Live 6.0.10 on an Apple Powerbook 1.5 GHz Power PC G4 2GB DDR SRAM using OSX 10.4.11. The audio interface is a MOTU 828.

In Session view, I'll set the signature denominator to 7/8 (or 7/4 sometimes). Then I'll pick a drum instrument in Impulse to use for creating drum clips. I start to record a clip with the metronome on ( I use an Akai percussion pad controller). At first, it sounds correct with the downbeat metronome click in the right place (on "1"). But as I record or play back the clip, the metronome downbeat click sound moves to another beat. It stays at the same tempo but the downbeat changes as if it doesn't want to stay in 7/8 or 7/4. Can you figure out why it's doing this? A lot of what I'm working on is in odd meters.

Thanks!

syncing 2 laptops via midi??

hey, i was wondering if anyone could give me some steps on how to sync two laptops together? I know that it's possibly and fairly easy to do but we have been having some troubles, I think there is something we are not getting.

our setup is:
2 macbook pro laptops (one running live 6 one running live 5)
Version 5 laptop has an m-audio firewire410 , the version 6 laptop has an m-audio midisport2X2.

I know that we have to set one laptop as the master and one as the slave, but we're not sure exactly who should be running the midi out or in? we're also not sure which things to select in abletons preferences (i believe there is remote, track, sync)?

anyone help would be MUCH appreciated!

thanks

Tension vs String Studio, Analog vs Ultra Analog

ok, it's a bit of a long shot question...
has anyone here done a serious comparison of these programs?
i'm a fanatic about Tassman from AAS. i'm seriously thinking about taking the plunge into Live 7.
(i have tried out a light version in the past, ofcourse i like it!)
what i am considering is whether i want to get the Suite of just Live itself. i have tons of stuff (all bought, therefor supporting these excellent companies) and don't need most of the Suite. AAS is selling all their physical modeling stuff in a package deal which i am more inclined to buy than the Suite.
any comments, suggestions, or ideas?

thanks and keep on Liveing~

My various audio recordings in separate tracks within Ableton do not sync up. However when I play back different audio clips stored on my PC, they all sync up when played back in loop mode. Anyone got any idea why this is so? I've been searching everywhere on the net but found no answer and the manual doesn't talk abt my problem.

Which Warp Mode?

So, A friend and I have an ongoing debate about which Warp Mode to use while playing back songs...for DJing.
I'm of the opinion that the Complex mode works best to playback the song at any speed w/ as little change in the quality of the sound as is possable. I recognize that the sound is a little muffled, so I use Izotope to maximize and re-add harmonics.
What's your opinion?

Mastering Rendering

I've begun 'rendering' my songs to 16bit 44.1Khz audio... but, the overall volume seems really low in comparison to other songs in my collection (other people's). This is when my master volume is at 0dB and I normalize the rendering. I've boosted the master volume to 6dB, rendered and then re-rendered the track with an additional 6dB, without normalizing the rendering (the only way to boost the volume in rendering?)... I've had to do this three times, adding 18dB to my track, in order for it to be of comparable volume to the other tracks in my collection!
Any thoughts, comments?

Ableton Live User Group-Los Angeles October 25, 2007 7PM SAE Institute 6565 Sunset Blvd., Suite 100 Los Angeles, CA 90028

Come check out the Los Angeles installment of the worldwide Ableton Live user groups. Learn the latest Ableton Live tips and tricks, commiserate with like-minded musicians and DJs, and watch as special guests give you their unique take on using Live for music production and performance.

On October 25, 2007, Ableton's West Coast Product Specialist Laura Escudé will host special guests Irwin, Jim Cowgill and Drew Anderson.

Irwin has been at the frontier of live electronic music since 1996, and headlined over three hundred shows in the U.S. and Europe. All beats are performed live with electronic drums and samples, other sounds are designed and generated directly from computer, accessed via theremin and looped on the spot. "Irwin is considered by many the most innovative and talented live electronic act in the world." -KPBS

Jim Cowgill has been active in electronic music since 1982. From early work with synth- pop bands like Glad Corp, he eventually became a solo performer occasionally collaborating with other musicians. He has composed music for corporate videos, and theatrical sound design. His current music project is Sequenox; a journey into cinematic ambient and synthesized rhythms. Jim has used Ableton Live since version 4; and relies on it as a creative tool, both in performance and in the studio.

Since hearing Led Zeppelin played back on an Apple IIe computer in 1985, Drew Anderson has been hooked on sound and computers. Professionally, he has worn many hats including writer for Computer Music and mastering engineer for Masterdisk in NYC. Musically, he has collaborated with musicians and artists from around the world for a number of multimedia and musical projects. Currently he is composing for the installation "The God Project" with artist Keri Bruno and writing for his project "lake of sleep'. Drew has been an active Abelton user (and obsessive) since the demo of Live 1.0.

am i retarded in being hilariously underwhelmed by the feature set of ableton version 7? what are the selling points here?

the only things that caught my eye were REX support and a spectral analyzer - but these aren't worth $150 in upgrade costs to me. what say you?

Playing live in Live with own tracks - a solution

Hi all,

New to the group. I produce my own tracks using Live and a ton of filters and plugins (NI mostly). I release the tracks as well as play them live blended as a set. I first tried playing all the als tracks in one session but on most laptops, even my Duo Core 2 Ghz with 1.5 GB RAM etc, the CPU and disk fail after 2-3 minutes. I then tried freezing tracks, but this also created small glitches when the disk or CPU maxed, so I settled with Rendering the tracks as 24 bit 48000 sample wavs, and creating an arrangement with the wavs, blended with all the DJ moves (equilization, volume, filters, all automated), the set is an hour long and so far it has stood true on this laptop through several live gigs without a glitch.

Yes - I miss having all my clips to manipulate, but at the end of the day, performing live you CANNOT have issues, so this seems the safest way.

Any comments?

I tried rendering as 24 bit 196000 sample, but cant tell the difference.
Syncing issue with external fx processor

Hey guys,

I started playing around with dj'ing using ableton and I'm stuck on something. Let me explain to you how my setup works. I have 3 tracks, a, b, c and the "audio to" are all set to sends only. One of my sends is routed to an external mini KP(kaoss pad) and then fed back into the system into an audio track and then out to the master.

The problem I'm having is that if I send my internal returns to master there is a time delay between the internal returns and wha'ts coming back from the mini kp. I've tried adjusting the track delay for the incoming external return and also the send which is sending the audio to the mini kp but I can't get them to sync.

The only way I've managed to deal with this is to send the internal returns to the mini kp's return as well but the problem with that is I'm affecting all audio beeing routed and cannot use the mini kp to only affect one track that I'm playing.

Is there a better way to do this? Is there a way to sync all the channels?

Much thanks!

I'm not having fun. I hope someone can help me out.

I haven't done the whole reinstall bit as I am hoping there is something simple that I am missing here. Here's the skinny.

I recently purchased an external hard drive and was doing some transferring of files and moved my Live sets to the xHD (using g5 OSx 500gb/2g ram). Since, every time I open Live, I am asked to unlock and it asks for my serial number. Fine, I dig out the disks and enter the serial number (I even try it case specific) and I get an invalid message. I can cancel but Live works only in demo. I really don't know what else to say. If I do the uninstall>reinstall thing, I fear I will still get the same invalid serial message. I'm about to poop fire. Please help if you can.

Posted in both Live tribes as I forget which is more active.

Tech Help! Midi Mapping Issues with Foot Pedal

I need some help here...I'm going bonkers over what seems to be a simple issue...

I want to assign a midi foot pedal (either a Tech21 Midi Mouse or a Behringer FCB 1010) to trigger scenes in the session view. Basically scroll down and trigger master scene by master scene with simple up/down midi info.

My problem is that when I try to assign functions under the Midi-Mappings setting Live only reads the information as a "pitchbend" (under the "Note/Control" listing).

What do I need to do to assign either pedal to trigger master scenes in the session view?

whenever i play a song for the first time, the song freezes for a short second then resumes playing whenever the song is about to play a new clip that sits in its own track.

for example, the first 16 bars are slient in the midi track. then when the sequence hits bar 17 the first midi notes are about to be played then a short pause occurs and then resumes playing. if i replay the song after the incident then it doesn't happen again.

it killed me in a performane cuz it threw off my live drummer who is listening through headphones.

help please!!!!!

I just ordered a copy at the recommendation of a wise and tallented friend who says that a lot of the pros are using Battery 3 for drum sampling and looping. I was hoping for opinions on how well it works with Live. Any comments? I've long been searching for good and entirely useful and unique drum sounds and this looks like the way to go. Feedback much appreciated.

Hey,
I have just bought a Remote SL (which is siiiiiiick) but i am having trouble in getting the assianble pads and buttons to trigger clips.
I want to use it for djing, with 3 channels firing and stop clips (via the buttons) and the faders to control the mixer.
Does anyone know where i can get my hands on a template i could load on to my controller?

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions....

So back when I started using ableton I was tryin to figure out what type of midi controller I should start with.... My choices: The Oxygen 8, The Trigger Finger and the MPD16. Obcviously my first choice was about whether I wanted a keyboard, or a pad controller. I went with the keyboard, so the decision was easy. That was about a year ago, and I've gotten a lot out of the oxygen 8, but I'm ready for a pad controller... and I find myself lucky in that I want/am ready for one when I actually have some cash to buy one.... The question becomes which one do I buy.... Unfortunately, the choice has expanded.... My choices are now: The Trigger Finger, The MPD 16 (for $50 less), The MPD 24 (for $50 more), or the PadKontrol (Also $50 more than the trigger finger).... Now I can spend up to $200, but judging from what I've seen in terms of reviews until now, the only one I prolly won't buy is the MPD 16 because I've seen quite a few issues with it.... But I'm still open to seeing someone's opinion on this.... my criteria are pretty simple outside of the obvious that it be a pad controller.... portability is a big plus (I'm thinking that this will be the controller I play out with, plus I'd like something small enough to take in a carryon along with my laptop), sturdiness (it's not gonna break and I don't have to bolt it down), and feel (This makes me lean toward the Akai's).... Of course, I have a monthly budget for ish like this (about $150), but I have some extra this month b/c I got a nice bonus... I already ordered the 2 gig ram upgrade.... so now I'm tryin to figure out what my best next move is with the cash that I have, so if anyone thinks something like operator or sampler is a better idea than a new controller, I'd hear them out too.... although you'd have to make a pretty good argument.... I know that the best way to figure out what you want is to go test everything out, BUT to do that I'm lookin at about 3 hours of traveling to get to the nearest music store that actually carries everything I would be comparing, so I'm kinda dependent on the net reviews....

Using session view to do a live performance....

Hey all... I've been workin with live for about a year now to create a bunch of tracks, many of which I have posted about here, and I'm gettin pretty close to being confident enough to make a demo and actually try to get out to do some live PA stuff at some local clubs. In my vision of doing live PA with live I"m goin out with my computer, a midi controller or two set up to launch clips and scenes from the tracks I've created in session view and about 10-15 tracks I"ve created in ableton in one large track so I can trigger said clips and scenes to move the crowd... However, I'm starting to realize that I may be asking too much of my computer (1st Gen black Macbook), as I"ve started to try to create the mixtape and I'm running into massive cpu issues. I'm seeing huge spikes on the meter, which of course are leading to sound cut outs, and I know it's because I have too many tracks loaded up.... I've tried freezing and even flattening everything, but I still can't get the cpu usage to stay within normal limits... Is it possible that adding more ram will help this (I'm maxing out my computer at the end of the month because I know it wouldn't hurt.... but I'm wondering if I"m goin to be let down after I do it.)
Now I know that live is supposed to be great for live performance, but I'm not sure I understand how people are using it for that if cpu usage spikes when you have too many scenes or clips in a set using session view... If you are using live for live PA performances, how are you doing it? Do you use session view and the clips and scenes you created for your own tracks? If so how do you set it up so it doesn't cause the cpu spikes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peace

Anyone created binaural beats with Live?

If you have to ask what binaural beats are then the answer is probably no. =)

Cool Edit Pro had an alpha/theta wave generator built in to it and you could mix it in with
your music to aid in relaxing, meditation, focus or altered states.

I could probably figure it out but I was wondering if you could do it easily with Live.

Just posted two new tracks at www.projectopus.com/teachone

Check out "Acoustic Jungle (Hungry Tree Mix)" and "Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde" they are both new tracks that feature the acoustic/electric guitar of Ed Ragonnet... We're workin on putin together a full length lp sometime before the end of summer, and setting it up to be a performance piece, so we would really like feedback positive and otherwise.

Getting Ready to bring out a demo...

What's up Tribe....

It's been awhile since I've been here, but I like the feel of this forumn, so I thought I'd ask this question here. I'm a teacher during the school year, but since I have this summer off, I'm thinkin about trying to put some of my stuff together for a demo to get a live gig at a club that usually has dj's who spin electronic music. I'm lookin for advice on how I should mix my stuff in ableton.... should I start my mix with what I consider my best track, or should I build to it like I would if I was puting together a set for a live performance. I used to spin records in the bay area, but I never had to cold call clubs to get a gig because I always knew someone, so this is a different kind of experience for me. Plus this is the first time I've tried going the laptop rout, so i'm also wondering how one might go about making a laptop performance more "entertaining".... When I spun records, there were always three crowds... the ones on the dance floor who never even noticed I was there as long as the mix was good, the purists who just stuck at the back of the room and listened for their favorite songs, and the dj's/dj fanatics who wanted to watch everything I did and wanted to see me put on a show. I'm not too worried about the first two groups, but the third group is the one that I've generally always catered to and I'm not sure how to put on a show with just a laptop and a midi controller... Any thoughts?

Can't assign Midi controls anymore... help!

Hi guys,
I'm new here, and it seems that this community is pretty active, sounds wicked!
I actually have a problem with Ableton : I use Live 6 with a Novation Remote 25SL, but when I click on the MIDI button upper right on the screen, I can't manage to assign any control to a function : for instance I click on a clip zone, I press a key on the Novation, but nothing appears, whereas if I do the same assigning to the PC's keyboard, it does work properly.
Any idea?
Thanks, guys!

I think with this layout, even mistakes will sound cool and imagine all the percussion cells you have (velocity sensitive keys). After all the copy/pasting I've done below, I'm too lazy to even count how many keys there are on it ...about 200?

midi control clips per channel?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if there is a way to cycle through clips and launch the one chosen...but per channel. So I would have button1 assigned to cycling through channel1 and button 2 cycle through channel2's clips...etc...and then have an encoder to start playing the clips you've selected. Is this possible? On the Korg Zero8 video found on youtube, www.youtube.com/watch it seems like he can control each channel and their clips independently. I know you can assign midi to the scenes to move and up those but I'm looking for this control by each channel.

Cheers.

Hey everyone-

I'm fairly new to using computer as opposed to hardware for music. I've been using Ableton and loving it! My partner-who's the lead on our current project is using Pro Tools and...it has been a GIGANTIC pain in the ass. Non stop problems with OSX (it is a new Intel laptop to be fair), plug ins, memory, etc. We are using some difficult plug ins (Arturia-the boards have non stop complaints about their wares) but its become a bit of a joke.

He's new to computers, period, so I suppect he's doing certain things wrong, but-literally, if we get more than five channels going without laying them down to elimate the plug in we get memory issues with play back. To me, I can't belive that PT chokes this much. I just want to go with Ableton-is there anything Pro Tools can do that Ableton can't do...?

Hey Ableton Folk,

This Wednesday evening I'm participating in an "Info Session" event at Fly Lounge in DC. This event is a workshop geared towards musicians, DJs, and producers. I'm going to be leading a discussion by demonstrating my "Live Remashing" project. I'll be talking about the technical side (how my tools work), the creative side (why I do live sound-collage), the practical side (working in sample-based music), and of course, performing a little music throughout!

This is event is sponsored by RedBull to raise awareness about an educational program they do called RedBull Music Academy. The Info Session is FREE and open to the public. You must RSVP to attend.

Please pass along this invite to anyone you know who might be interested!

Thanks,

On my friend's PC laptop, he has the option to use either of these drivers for audio. He was using DirectX, and
we would always get clipping and drops after about 15 minutes of play.

However, with ASIO, things seem to work a lot better. This is with an m-audio firewire 410 interface.

Anyone have a similar expereince?

Ok why is this?
I can hit record in a play slot and record all my midi notes just fine, But if i say create a empty 2 bar clip and try to record a live loop in OVERDUB mode only some notes get recorded? I hear all the notes durring the record but not all are printed. It's like a global bar qauntize is on. My record quantize is off.. Any ideas?

Hey guys,

I found this a few days ago and tried ti myself. It's a plugin that let's you control pitch and tempo for Live. The pitch idea is really cool, it basically turns ableton live into a recrod player. This is especially helpful for those who try to beatmatch records with clips

enjoy.

Unfortunately this only for PC right now with plans for mac soon(ish)

Hi

I'm a Live Newby and would like to know how I can import the midi map with all my meter changes from a host sequencer like LOGIC into Live. Is that possible in Live 5? Dargging a midi file wouldn't do it...

Thanks guys

Hey everyone,

New tribe member here. Over the last few years I've been using Cubase SX and my buddy Glen keeps mentioning Live. Since I'm in the process of getting legit copies of everything I run...any input on why I should consider Live 6 over SX 3; aside from the obvious price savings. :)

Peace,

so it's been 2 days since i used the wonderful 5.0 ( how i love this program!)

and i went todayy to remix a jungle book trak with sum jungle and i clicked on the icon and it sayd

" this shortcut appears to have been changed or removed!" and that's on every icon, even the acutally program location under program files!

i don't know what could have possibly happened. there was no problems a few days ago and i know what i'm doing with my computer.

i actually cried..

i looked under add/remove programs and it says it's still there but no matter what i try i can't seem to find the program and get it going.

i am really upset and i'm affraid that i wont beable to finish this track for new years.

i got this program in vancouver and no longer have the install things.

is it possible that anyone can re send it to me through msn or post the download on a site?

bit torrents are sketchy and take forever. i need it asap.

i am really upset and i have no idea what went wrong.

if anyone can help me out or has an idea of what happened please please let me know cuz jungle is my life.

MIDI issue -- after playing one note in an armed track and letting go from my midi controller, the note stays on forever...

I have a Yamaha PSR 275 keyboard, pretty run of the mill, with MIDI capability, and when I connect with Live the MIDI square in the top right blinks -- BUT -- when I press a note the armed track simply freezes on that note indefinitely after I've let the key go. And then, the other notes on the board will do next to nothing and freeze the note indefinitely the rare times they do control an instrument note.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to remedy this problem, they would be more than appreciated!
